Job Description

Key Accountabilities for Safety and Environmental Manager

  • To lead in development and implementation of site EHS standards/procedure as per the Corporate EHS guidelines for the site.
  • To guide site associates on EHS standards, procedures and formats development & deployment.
  • To implement & Monitor the progress of Remedial Action Plans at site and Liaison with the Government authorities related to RAP.
  • To ensure proper documentation related to RAPs.
  • To monitor and drive Safety and Environmental Improvement Plan
  • Collect and report data related to sustainability.
  • Develop and deliver training calendar programme covering induction, contractor and regulatory to educate the company’s workforce as well as contractors/visitors on safety to ensure that they understand and comply with the company’s policies and standards.
  • Timely completion of observations, recommendation and finding raised in compliance audit, Huntsman audit/ Inspection by appropriate involvement of team
  • Conduct accident investigation and report to concerned people in accurate and timely manner. Track CAPA and check periodical effectiveness.
  • Conduct routine inspections and observation; record results and prepares simple technical reports.
  • Taking active role in controlling the emergency conditions/situations as defined in the ERP.
  • Ensure Fire Safety and emergency equipment’s are maintain and requirements are conformance to the Fire Risk Assessment.
  • Ensure site Work Permit, risk assessment like JSA are develop and followed routinely before performing task.
  • To drive the safety programme to upgrade the safety standard and culture by involving site people.

Key Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Environment Engineering with Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (or any other safety course recognized by Ministry of Labor, Govt. of India).

Experiences: 8 – 10 years’ experience in chemical process industry in EHS.

Know-how/skills: Service-minded and good communication, Computer Literacy, Management system, Comprehensive knowledge of local, national & international Health, Environmental & Safety codes & practices.
